Bagerhat, 18 July 2026: Today marked a significant milestone for Latif Master Foundation as Barrister Kaysar Kamal, MP, Hon’ble Deputy Speaker of the Bangladesh National Parliament, visited a series of development initiatives and institutions established by the Foundation across Bagerhat.
The visit commenced with the inauguration of the Skill Institute of Technology (SKILL-IT) at Foundation Square, opposite the New Court and Deputy Commissioner’s Office in Bagerhat.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Barrister Sheikh Md. Zakir Hossain, Administrator, Zila Parishad, Bagerhat; Mr. Golam Mohammad Baten, Deputy Commissioner, Bagerhat; the Superintendent of Police, Bagerhat; CPA Md. Rafiqul Islam Jaglu, Chairman of Latif Master Foundation; along with distinguished guests, educationists, political leaders, journalists, and respected members of civil society.
The ceremony was chaired by Dr. Md. Faridul Islam, Former Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh and Founder of Latif Master Foundation.
Following the inauguration, the Hon’ble Deputy Speaker officially launched the Foundation’s environmental initiative by distributing 5,000 fruit tree saplings among the people of Bagerhat, reaffirming the Foundation’s commitment to environmental conservation, food security, and sustainable community development.
The Hon’ble Deputy Speaker then inaugurated the Math Club, established by the Foundation at the Zila Parishad Auditorium, with the objective of promoting mathematics, analytical thinking, and innovation among young learners.
He subsequently visited the Latif Master Foundation Complex at Beshorgati, where he toured the Foundation’s flagship institutions and community initiatives, including Swapnanir Orphanage and Old-Age Home, Rocket Football Academy, Latif Master Public Library, Baitul Latif Jame Mosque, and Beshorgati Science and Technology Institute (BeSTI).
At BeSTI, the Hon’ble Deputy Speaker distributed Competency Certificates among the graduates of the Skills for Industry Competitiveness and Innovation Programme (SICIP-WEAB), recognizing their successful achievement of nationally recognized competencies in Graphics Design and Fashion Design.
The Hon’ble Deputy Speaker also visited the Foundation’s Free Medical Camp and Eye Care Camp, where he interacted with doctors, volunteers, and beneficiaries and appreciated the Foundation’s continued commitment to providing quality healthcare services to underserved communities.
The day’s programme concluded with a discussion meeting at the Rocket Football Academy Field, attended by government officials, local leaders, development partners, journalists, educators, and community representatives.
Addressing the gathering, the Hon’ble Deputy Speaker highly appreciated the remarkable contributions of the Latif Master Foundation in the fields of education, technical and vocational skills development, healthcare, environmental conservation, youth empowerment, sports, and social welfare.
In a heartfelt remark, he stated that although Netrokona is his home district, he considers Bagerhat to be his “second home” and expressed his desire to be regarded as a “second citizen of Bagerhat.”
He reaffirmed his commitment to standing beside the people of Bagerhat and assured his continued support for the district’s development initiatives and overall socio-economic progress.
The visit reflected national recognition of the Latif Master Foundation’s longstanding commitment to community development and its unwavering efforts to build a skilled, educated, healthy, and prosperous society.
